Chili Pepper Cluster
연세대학교 통계데이터사이언스학과에서는 High Performance Computing(HPC) 클러스터 연구의 일환으로 전구성원의 데이터 사이언스, 머신러닝, 딥러닝 연구가 이루어질 수 있도록 컴퓨팅 서버 자원(Chili Pepper)을 클라우드로 제공합니다. 해당 클러스터는 SLURM 스케줄러를 활용하여 작업에 따라 예상되는 리소스 사용량 및 시간을 연구자가 자유롭게 설정할 수 있도록 합니다. 개인 장비로 하기 어려웠던 CPU/RAM 및 GPU 부하가 많은 다양한 실험 및 분산 컴퓨팅 작업도 가능합니다.
해당 클러스터의 도입, 설계 및 운영 등 전과정은 학생들을 위해 그리고 학생들에 의해 이루어지고 있습니다. Slack을 활용하여 운영 학생들과 클러스터 사용자들간 커뮤니케이션이 이루어지며 실시간 중요 공지 및 질문과 답변을 위한 창구로 사용됩니다. GitHub Organization을 활용하여 클러스터 구성을 위한 소스코드를 오픈소스로 관리합니다. 클러스터 홈페이지를 통해 클러스터 사용을 위한 SBATCH Configurator 및 사용 관련 문서를 제공합니다.

The Chili Pepper Cluster is a High Performance Computing(HPC) environment open to all members of Yonsei University Statistics and Data Science students while the operation and usage of the cluster being a field of research on its own. This cluster employs the job scheduling software SLURM to provide highly configurable data science workflows. Resource intensive data operations such as Machine Learning and Deep Learning can be executed without hogging researchers' individual computing resources. Administrators are more than willing to help and facilitate various computing workflows as we are also student of Statistics.
The entirety of this cluster computing project is managed by the students, for the students. Real-time Q&As, important notifications are managed via Slack. Almost all configuration files and source codes are open and managed through GitHub Organization. The Cluster Homepage provides various tools, such as the SBATCH Configurator, and documentation to help your data computation journey.
